Question:

Coping VHS to DVD?

I'm looking to transfer 20 years of family video tape to DVD, but I don't have the equipment to do so. Can anyone recommend a good DVD player that will also record from a VHS? Even if it means obtaining a VCR and hooking it up to the DVD. I'm trying to do this cheaply. I've seen some services that will do 2 VHS tapes, up to 2 hours, for $30 - but that's too expensive when I have over 20 tapes that range from 2-8 hours each.

Any suggestions?

  1. try going to sears or looking on line they might have something.

  2. Hi myjaxons,

If they are family tapes they do not have copy guard so a combo VHS / DVD recorder would get the job done.

They have dropped in price. You can get them for less then $100.

Here is an example at Walmart for $99 - http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d...
