Walter Mazzarri, head coach of SSC http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 outfit, has gone on to comment on the loss to Bologna in the Italian Cup and stated that they need the support of the fans.
Not many were expecting the Neapolitan outfit to crash out of the fifth round of the Coppa Italia ties that were played over the weekend and especially given the fact that the club was doing as well as they have been doing of late, so the defeat came as
a surprise to everyone. What made the tie even more interesting was the fact that the Partenopei outfit were facing Bologna twice in the space of four days.
During the 17th match week of the Serie A, Stefano Pioli’s men were victors at the Stadio San Paolo, and secured victory in an enthralling match which saw the two teams score five goals in total, and Bologna winning the match with a superb striker
from Panagiotis Kone. It was a similar story in the fifth round of the Coppa Italia; as the two outfits went on to battle it out with the Rossoblu being the victors and Kone scoring yet another goal for Bologna and that too against the Vesuviani outfit.
Walter Mazzarri spoke of the hurt he is suffering from after his team crashed out of the Italian Cup at the hands of the Rossoblu outfit and stated that it was a tragic way to quit the tournament. He was talking about this in lieu of the fact that they were
the holding Coppa Italia champions and remarked that he apologised on the behalf of the club.
Furthermore, he went on to state that the team will get through this period of uncertainty and mentioned that they were determined to turn this situation around with the help of the fans, and remarked:
“I am really sorry for the fans, as we were the Coppa Italia holders and it hurts to go out like this. We are in any case a united group and will get back on track as soon as possible. This is a difficult moment and the fans have to stand by us.”
The Neapolitan outfit would be looking to perform to the best of their abilities in the remaining part of their season.
