  1. Are they? I don't think so. TIN based is banned....


  2. copper is fine it will not be banned,  i believe you are thining of TBT paint, most antifouling paints contain copper

  4. I'm from the ol' school. Copper is used in ablative paints. the boat must not remain out the water for long after coating. I also cheat (I  hope I don't get caught) I add arsenic to the paint as nothing will grow around it. my neighbors don't haul out as often as they used to.

  5. Copper is still used - I just had our 80' done and it was with a cuprous oxide based paint.

    Tin-free antifouling are now available for effective protection for aluminum boats, outdrives & outboards.
