Cops gave us the OK to make all the noise we want! Who else is going to Harley's 105th celebration?

I just got done watching a Wisconsin state trooper say on channel fox 6 Milwaukee that there is nothing they can do about us making noise with our bikes! I'm planning on going and really shaking up that town.

Anybody else going and doing the same?

  1. I would not believe it, WI just passed a law allowing people to report vehicles with loud exhaust.  With just one person reporting a license plate number they send a ticket in the mail giving you 30 days to show up at the local police station with a legal exhaust or you get the fine.  Same rules as any fine, pay it or lose your driving privileges.  Not sure what to think about this, I hate obnoxious cars and bike in the middle of the night but also do not like the ability of people to abuse this.

  2. Cops can't give permission to violate the law.

Maybe he can't stop every bike with a loud exhaust, but you can bet they'll be nailing some of you.

  3. I would be there if only I could get the judge on board with the idea.

  4. Good luck dude.

    Do you like jail food?

  5. And you believed them?  I was born and grew up in Milwaukee.  They have lots of noise ordinances.

  6. This is a celebration of 105 years of turning gasoline into noise right ?

It sure won't be a celebration of 105 years of technological innovation by Harley

  7. So if I just say I think someone has loud exhaust they just take my word for it and send a notice for that person to take his time off and show up to prove he doesn't just based on my hearsay evidence?

If that's how the law works then I'd flood the market with so many complaints they'd be sorry it ever hit the books...

I don't believe he has the law correct above and if he does then I'd say it would set a precedent for reporting all kinds of violations and crimes that don't need any investigation and just word of mouth for...

Excessive noise ordinances are minor offenses and if the people out of state are doing it - then it's pretty much a waste of time during a large event unless you set up a 24 hour around the clock traffic court or word the law to require a bond

THERE'S A THING CALLED DUE PROCESS and it's in all 50 states

  8. Throttle down in town,   I believe that what the Milwaukee cops are tell harley riders.  I'll be in Milwaukee for the 105th, but I'll be on a crochrocket.
