I've noticed over the years that police are starting to use many more military style tactics now. They use powerful automatic weapons and tazers and more military style SWAT teams. They even look like soldiers with their hair and their uniforms. And they are becoming more militant in their tactics. I watched a COPS episode on TV and it took place in London and the police over there are much more polite and respectful of the citizens. During traffic stops, the people even walk right up to a police car and ask what they did wrong. They aren't told to wait in a car like in the U.S. I have even watched COPS episodes from the 80's and the police don't seem very military like. They don't appear to be so rude or as harsh as they are now. Anyways, is a more military style police force in the U.S. a good thing or a bad thing? It seems like it is getting more military style year by year.

  1. ok, i can go with face value of the "military" part but think about it, these cops are at war in some of these poor neighborhoods

  2. Its a good thing.  There  are more violent criminals these days.

  3. Well when you are being shot at in a routine traffic stop, politeness goes right out the window.

The cops have to change their tatics because the criminals are becoming more violent.

I don't know about you but if someone put a knife to my throat, I think that I would want a cop to get job done by any means necessary instead of being respectful of the criminal. Thats just stupid.

  4. Bad,

it's becoming more like a police state every day..

  5. It's a bad thing. Once the New World Order takes place, it will be even worse.
