I thought it was interesting that I never saw any cops, or security, other than in the customs lines on our cruise...Didn't need em, but thought it strange not to see em...

  1. We are going on our 4th cruise on July 6th. Last year on our cruise, there was this guy who was drunk up the wazoo. He went back to his room, where his kids were sleeping, and he told them to be back by 11:00, which they were, but he was too drunk to notice them, so he went to the desk and started cussing at the people at the desk and everything and he thought his kids were missing when they were in the room and a bunch of people were looking for them and one of the ladies at i guess you would call it the front desk called sucurity and then they took him to a room and confined him for the rest of the night.

  2. oh I think they are there alright ... you might not have seen someone dressed in a uniform looking like security, but they could have been dressed casually and you wouldn't know them from another passenger ... also all the waiters, cabin attendants etc keep an eye on things and would call security immediately if anything bad were happening

  3. Most ceartinly there are security staff aboard the cruise ship but they like to stay in the shadows. They only came out if there is a problem anywhere. Also youll find a lot of cameras watching over different part of the ship. In fact cruising is one of the safest vacation there is as long as you stay on the ship. Johan

  4. They are there, they are usually ex-army Gurkha's although the Head of Security is usually ex service English or American. Perhaps they do not have such a visible presence now but the year after 9/11 on the cruises we were on, they patrolled the open decks constantly when docked and maintained a security  area on the dockside.
