Hello, I've got some dvd backups that i'd like to watch on my vcr; because I only have a vcr connected to a tv in my spare room. The spare tv will not go into "input mode" I've connected the dvd to my main vcr through the audio video inputs, and I press play on the dvd, then record on the vcr. It appears to record, but when I try to play the tape I get nothing but snow; no flicker or anything. I do not want a new tv for the spare room, because the lead is bad for the environment. What do I do? P S the vcr i'm recording to is a emerson, and the dvd is a Magnavox. God Bless You

  1. While recording on the VHS make sure that the VHS's input is set to the correct one.  Most have front and back video inputs, as well as all the TV channels.  Choose the input you have your DVD connected to.

Make sure that on the DVD you are using the analog video output connector, and not a digital one or the  video input.

While recording do you see the DVD's picture through the VCR? You should.   Set the TV so that you can see the VHS. machine. (Play a VHS tape) Then start the recording process you should see the DVD.

    Just some suggestions.
