Copying DVDs of an already unlicenced, no RIAA DVD?

If I have a DVD, say for instance, a DVD made featuring footage of graffiti and graffitia artists or something, with music etc.. whatever.

If this DVD hasn't been released like properly, and also, say they use music without permission, have no ratings for age, no like official notices or warnings.. just like a DVD put together by some guys, for the graffiti community.

If it's sold at some graffiti shops or sites sites with a cover and stuff, does that make a difference?

What's the deal on making copies or even selling copies of such a DVD?

Not especially graffiti, it's just an example. Skating videos and DVDs too for instance.

What's the deal?

  1. If this is all personal recordings with NO COPYRIGHT music or video footage (or coverart) then you can sell them.  Once you use anothers material you start getting into a grey area.  Local sales (a few) wont get you caught but if you have them on a website and sell huge amount there is legal trouble.

  2. Most movie DVDs has copyright protection, if you want to copy it to your hard drive, you must decrypt the copyright protection. Otherwise, Although you can copy the *.vob files to your  hard drive, but most media players cann't play it.

So my friends recommend me to use "E.M. Free DVD Copy"  to copy DVD moives. I found the video quality that be copied is excellent. If your DVD moive size larger than 4.7G, you can compress DVD to suitable size.

In addtion to, the  latest version add some usefule funtions like rip DVD to other popular formats, such as h264, Xvid, MOV, VOB, Mpeg, Mpeg4, Mpeg TS, AVI, WMV. so you can conveniently watch DVD movies on iPod, iPhone, PSP, Zune, etc.  portable players .
