today while driving on the freeway i accidentally cut a car off and was pretty close. i think the car had 2 step on break 2 avoid hitting me and i think i made him/her mad. i looked in my rear view but accidentally didnt check my blind spot before switching lanes. the car turned on their high beams and started following me into every lane i switched 2, even if i cut another car off they followed right behind me all the way up 2 100MPH.

i think they were copying down my license plate number. can they report me 2 anybody? what good does having my license plate do if i didnt hit the car or anything??

  1. Sounds like you need sme drivers training, yes they can take down your licence and report it to the police.

They in turn keep a record of the complain so when you finealy cause a crash they can see where they were for warned about yur driveing.

  2. I agree with Doc Holliday.  If they reported you to the police, even  though they were driving like an idiot too.  If the cops were around they probably would have pulled you over for erratic driving or driving to endanger.  Since they didn't I wouldn't worry about it.

  3. Accidentally cutting someone off is not a thing the police would ever have contacted you for.   Driving 100 mph and cutting of even more drivers "on purpose" is considered "aggressive and reckless driving" and they may follow up on that report.    Plus it was just plain "stupid" on your part.

They'd have to have the person who reported it sign a complaint and if it went to court appear in court to testify.    Most people wouldn't go to the trouble.

Get a handle on your behavior before you get behind the wheel again though.   Yikes man.... Take a chill pill....

  4. they can report you to the police, but you didn't commit a crime so i don't think they can do anything. i wouldn't stress it.

  5. In some states cutting off other drivers and driving 100mph is considered aggressive driving, and in some cases is a felony.Might want to check into it before the man drops by for a visit with bracelets.

  6. Worst case scenario they do a paid search and look up your license plate number to find out where you live. But usually no sane person would spend $40 to do that, unless you did something really bad to them.

  7. People are so aggressive and weird on the road now. Yours was an honest mistake and they reacted in an abnormal way to say the least.

Unless they can provide any witnesses to the incident, it would only ever be their word against yours if taken to court. If you have no visits from the cops in 24 hours, I would day that they were just trying to make you think  they were planning to report the matter.
