Question:

Copying from Virgin + to DVD?

I have Virgin + cable box, which comes with a 160gb HDD. There is an option to copy from the HDD to DVD or VCR, not wanting to us a VCR as the idea is ancient technology, can I use the DVD writer on my pc to copy programmes, and if so how is the best way to do it... The cable box has a USB output at the rear and RJ45 network port, which is quicker and do I need any particular software on my PC, (I am running Win98SE).

Thanks

  1. I am pretty sure that Windows 98SE will not allow you to perform this action, Windows 98 has a hard time with DVDs at the best of times.  I know that my Windows XP SP3 laptop struggles when copying from Virgin, we have a Sony TiVO and DVR machine and I can only suggest getting one of those to write your own DVDs, if they are to played elsewhere remember they have to be DVD- R and you have to finalise the discs before they play on anything other than the original writer.
