  1. Use Tissue Paper.  You know the kind you put in gift bags.  If you need a piece to be larger just tape them together.

  2. I copy them onto interfacing, too.  It's much stronger than tissue paper and lasts for years.  I have some favorite patterns I copied onto interfacing over 20 years ago that are still in great shape.

  3. if you have the time visit a wholesale paper place and buy "Bleachcraft" paper - it is thin enough to see through but tough enough not to tear. It comes in a variety of widths but in a huge role. you may or may not need an abn. I use it in my sewing & Patternmaking classes

  4. We Always just use newspaper or craft paper on the roll.

  5. I fold under the pattern to cut the smaller sizes so I don't have to lose the larger size.  In any area that you can't fold under smoothly you can just clip a small area and it will then fold under without a problem.

  6. They way the taught us in sewing class was to use cheap interfacing and copy with a Sharpie marker. Interfacing is going to be stronger and last longer than tissue paper. It will hold up to tracing and cutting and pinning. I buy yards of  it when JoAnn's has it on sale. They keep it behind the cutting counter. You want it thin and cheap.

  7. I trace the original pattern onto non iron interfacing as it doesn't rip as easy as paper and it is easier to pin to the fabric.
