Copyright? And Youtube Question.?

Hey guys, just had a question on copyright. What does it exactly mean, i know the basic meaning of it but if anyone can give an easier explanation of what it actually means, then it help me a lot. Also on youtube i see users type websites on info boxes because thats what they have to do to put the source. For EX instead of putting it www.yahoo.com, they put it as www.yah oo.co m. Is it just a typo or did they do it on purpose? Thanks

copyright is where a company doesent want you to copy or use the same thing. thats why its illegal  because your using someone elses content

It's like, you download a cartoon and post it on youtube, that's copyright because you didn't make the cartoon.

Same goes for a music video or such, however you can get permission to upload these things.

Also, taking songs that are not yours and putting them in your videos, videotaping a concert, stuff like that.

And they do that on purpose because youtube has this protection where you can't type a site adress out, so you may also see people put yahoo(dot)com or something like that.  I believe it's to protest people from spam.
