How would I go about selling an idea to a telephone company with out them just stealing my idea outright after I tell them?

  1. That is a hard question to answer.

    First, it is not a copyright question. Copyright applies to copying published material, not to stealing someone's idea.

    From my experience, corporations like telephone companies will not even talk to you about your idea. They may be working on the same idea themselves and are afraid that, if they talk to you, you will accuse them of having stolen your idea.

    Corporations have large staffs working on new ideas and many feel that the small chance of getting a new idea from an outsider is not worth the risk of getting sued.
