Copyright on my remixes?

I mix tracks and edit them on Audacity and when I save them I put in my information on ID3 tags so the music file has you has the artist and a certain genre etc..

I want to upload my stuff to last.fm but I don't know if I can, I'm not registered, I only mix at home and I don't know if I can upload it there for download. I have put my music up on Soundclick, Ilike, Imeem and Youtube and its ok and I don't earn money from it. Should I go for it on Last.fm? Please give me some adivce on this, thanks x

  1. It's great that you don't need to make money off it, but how would you feel if someone stole your music? ID3 tags are easily manipulated; the only way to really protect your music these days is to actually pay for the copyright (or try to do a poor- man's copyright).

If you must put your music on the Web, make sure it's in streaming format (instead of mp3).
