Coral Champions Night Maiden Stayers Finale proclaimed N Savva’s Droopys Greg the victor
Among other prestigious events held at Romford, Coral Champions Night Maiden Stayers Final was also held and its results caught everyone’s eyes.
Covering the distance of 575 meters in 35.58 seconds, Droopys Greg gave an outstanding performance.
The 5/4 favourite hound, with his moderate start, ran quite well in the beginning, as he continued his chase for the purse with an amazing increase in speed with 4 lengths to the wire.
Trainer N Savva’s black dog, starting his chase from trap 6, was the first one to reach the wire.
Droopys Greg was followed by the black and white dog, Afan Hawk, who was 2 lengths away from the finish line when the winner of the race crossed the wire.
As the 9/2 favourite, Afan Hawk started his chase from trap 4 but unfortunately, he got baulked.
Although he kept on running to meet up with his previous pace, his hard work didn’t led him to the leading position.
Trainer S A Howard’s three-year-old hound covered the distance in 35.74 seconds.
Afan Hawk was followed by trainer A M P Collett’s Boca Grande, with a difference of 1 length. The black dog started his chase with an outclass pace.
His speedy attitude railed him through many of his contenders and he also managed to lead the race for 4 lengths.
Even though his performance was very well, he could not compete with his contenders, finishing third in the Coral Champion Night Maiden Stayers Final.
The 4/1 favourite, wearing white and black number 3, finished his chase in 35.82 seconds.
Among all dogs, the only black b***h, Cockney Diva, under the training of P W Young, unluckily finished fourth by 2 ¾ lengths.
The three-year-old, wearing blue and white number 2, ran for the lure at an impressive pace. She was expected to finish at a good position if she had not got bumped in by 1 length.
Covering the distance in 36.04 seconds, the 5/1 favourite had a head to head competition with one of her contender, Rathglass Hero.
As the trap 1 opened for the three-year-old black dog, he raced remarkably for the purse. While railing through the track unluckily he got disputed between 1 to 5 lengths.
Covering the distance in 36.07 seconds, Rathglass Hero finished fifth in the race.
The last hound crossing the finish line in Coral Champions Night Maiden Stayers Final was trainer P R Garland’s Confident Nomad.
With an extremely bad start from tarp 5, the black dog covered the distance in 36.27 seconds and finished sixth by 2 ½ lengths.
Droopys Greg, the show stealer, won the purse of £1000 for his trainer N Savva, where as Afan Hawk, who finished second for S A Howard, won £200. The rest of the pack were given £100 each.
