Is the Great Barrier Reef (and other reefs) really in danger???

  1. actualy there was a documentary on this, and it is B. the reason is the increase in fertilizer used on the sugar cane fields. This causes a nitrogen spike, which makes star fish grow and reproduce like mad. They eat the reef it dies. the solution? 100 yards of thick treed in land next to the streams and rivers to absorb the nitrogen before it hits the water. do that, the reef will recover. FYI it is illegal to take coral, it can only be obtained when it breaks off naturaly.   http://edition.cnn.com/2003/TECH/science...
