Coral Wave favourite for Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial (Group 3) (Fillies)
Coral Wave is tipped to win the Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial (Group 3) (Fillies) at Leopardstown in Ireland on Sunday, May 13, 2012. The winning participant will be awarded a cash prize of €40,625.
The going will be soft in the 1 mile race, which is scheduled to start at 15:15 GMT. A total of 10 runners have been attracted towards the event and their names are as follows: Coral Wave, Yellow Rosebud, Alla Speranza, Soon, Princess Sinead, Duntle, Remember
Alexander, Rubina, Devotion and Ronan´s Bay.
Looking at the performances of all runners, the bookies have awarded the best odds to Coral Wave, as she has been in spectacular form over the past few events. The punters are also likely to place a lot of bets in her favour today.
The three-year-old filly has participated in four events until now, winning a couple of them. In addition to that, she has also secured a runner up spot once, which means that there was only one occasion, where she failed to make into the top three.
The P. J. Prendergast’s trainee started her career last year and finished fourth in her first over outing. However, she improved her performances afterwards and has impressed one and all with her speed and skills.
Importantly, Coral Wave was victorious in her previous two races, thus she is carrying terrific momentum at the moment. She will be chasing a hat-trick of wins today, but will need to be at her best. She will be partnered by D. P. McDonogh, who is yet to
win his first ever race. He has taken part in a few events until now, but has been unable to deliver solid results in them.
On the other hand, Yellow Rosebud will also be the one to watch out for in the race, as she is a quality performer. She was victorious in her first ever race, but was unable to repeat a similar show in her next two outings.
The three-year-old filly finished fourth in her most recent outing, which shows that she is not carrying the winning momentum at the moment.
Other than the top two favourites, Alla Speranza might also attract a few bets in her favour.
