What are the careers in studying coral reef bleaching?

If you are interested in the corals themselves, and not what causes the physical conditions that would lead to bleaching, marine biology mainly.  You could probably find people working on that in biology departments, biological oceanography departments, and marine biology departments.  

If you're interested in the conditions more than the critters, it would be chemical oceanography and physical oceanography.
