Cord to make an ironing board cover?

I'm looking to make a new cover for an ironing board, and they call call for cording. What kind of cord do they mean? A piece of rope? Twine? Yarn? What would I use here?

are you talking about a cord to run through the casting to pull and tie to fit the cover to the ironing board?. There is cording at the fabric store. It is by the elastic and it is on big spools. You need to take it to the cutting table to get the length you want cut.

House hold rope would work too.
