I Dont know if the cordless one needs to connect to the line box in the wall, I have only 1 proper line box in my house upstairs, and that's where i want the corded one to connect, and i want the cordless to connect downstairs just to the mains and no line box. There is a line box downstairs, but if i connect a home phone to it, the internet connected to the line box upstairs will disconnect everytime someone rings :l So yeah i hope one of these doesn't need the line thing and gets power from the other.

  1. You should only need the phone socket for the corded phone

  2. A cordless phone communicates with the receiver, which is connected to an electrical outlet, and a phone jack.

  3. Are you using a modem or broadband for your computer...??

  4. NO don't buy Binatone, They are awful phones, I'm a BT engineer and go into houses all day long and these are the phones we see have the most problems and the worst receptions. I always advise people to buy BT or Panasonic phones as these are the best by a long way. Go to either BT shop or a website called with and without wires for your phones. Usually for a twin set as these are called, only one needs to plug into a phone socket and the rest only plug into mains. Good luck.
