  1. I like Cordelia better :)

  2. Cordelia.  Cornelia makes me think of corns -- like on your feet.

  3. Cordelia.  Cornelia makes me think of Planet of the Apes.

  4. Cordelia

  5. I like Cordelia better. It sounds more feminine.

  6. Cordelia =]

  7. Definately Cordelia (:

  8. Cordelia :)

  9. I prefer Cordelia :)

It's one of my favorites- old-fashioned, elegant, and graceful, and it also ages well. It's fairly uncommon now, but it also has literary connections to Shakespeare, which is nice for me, as I'm an avid reader. Plus, it shortens to Delia, which I love.

  10. cordelia

    cordy is cute

  11. Cornelia, because for nicknames you could have nellie or nelia.

  12. I like Cornelia better. But I like the nickname Delia for Cordelia.

  13. Cordelia I suppose. Cornelia sounds like more of a boys name to me. Reminds me of Cornelius.

  14. I would say neither, but I guess Cordelia is a bit less horrible. Cornelia is really bad, sorry!

  15. If you want a name that everyone knows and is easy to spell, I would say Cornelia. It is a simple yet elegant name.

However if you are looking for more of a trendier, upbeat name that has a bit of the twist on the classic 'Cornelia', I strongly suggest Cordelia.

Overall my favorite would have to be Cordelia; it rolls of the tongue and has a bit of flavor to it.

Cornelia is a bit old fashioned to me and if you name your daughter that she might get teased throughout childhood.

Whatever suits your fancy is fine, both are names that sounds very pleasant on the ear and also very beautiful, grown up names.

    Good luck!

    Blessed be,

    Clara.

  16. i would prefer cornelia.

  17. Cordelia is cute!

Leila is a cute nickname also.

  18. if we HAVE to choose - Cornelia is better, I guess.

  19. I like Cordelia better. It's a little classier than Cornelia. Cordelia Rose sounds nice.

  20. i like cordelia.!

    :)

  21. Both are very old fashtioned names.  Cordelia sounds very posh. In all honesty, I wouldn't want to have a nickname of "Cordie" - reminds me of the character from Buffy/Angel or even worse, "Cornie".

  22. Cornelia, but i mean cordelia reminds me of an electric cord and cornelia... you really want your daughters nickname to be corn...?

  23. Cordelia.

  24. cordelia

  25. Cordelia!  I love that it's Shakespearean (Cordelia was the loving, faithful daughter in "King Lear").  Cora, Delly, or Delia would be darling nicknames when she's little.

Cornelia is a name from Ancient Rome.  While the historical Cornelia was apparently regarded as an example of the ideal woman, I can't get away from it's "corn" association.  I'm more familiar with the name Cornelius, so Cornelia sounds a bit too masculine.
