Cordless Phone and Caller ID?

Hi all,

I have a problem with my cordless phons.. I have 3 of them (AT&T, Uiden, and Panasonic) and the caller ID doesn't work at all even though THEY were working on my other house just fine.

Any idea why? does my linksys wireless router has something to do with it? because the wired deskphone would show the caller id but not cordless!!

  1. The key point you mention is  that the corded desk phone "works" just fine with caller-ID at new location, but None of the cordless phones caller-ID work at new location.

    If that is correct, then:

What frequencies are the cordless phones?

If they are 2.4 GHz phones, then there is a high probability that Linksys Wireless-G Router and adapters is interfering with them.

In which case, best option is to switch to 5.8 GHz or 1.6 GHz DECT6 cordless phones.

Wireless-G Routers and adapters should not interfere with 5.8 or 1.6 GHz phones.

Also, keep all wireless phones and base units as far as practical from the Wireless-G Router/adapters to reduce interference issues.

I have two different Panasonic 5.8 GHz cordless phones within a few feet of my Wireless-G Router and wireless adapter and do not have any problems with interference or caller-ID on these phones.

  2. did u have them hooked the same es your old house? If the router is new then that may b it . or mayb the cordless featur for call id is turned off. If the phone isn't damaged in the move then have you pay the bill.or you could elways check with manuel. the table of contents will be first place to look then go to the page...
