Cordless Phones and Scanners?

I am really strict about people listening to my phone conversations. When I'm on the phone I talk low when people are around or leave the room I don't like anyone hearing what I'm talking about unless I am talking directly to them.

Here's the thing, I just baught a cordless phone and didn't realize it was only 2.4 GHz. Will scanners pick this phone up?

Thanks.

  1. Not likely, or are you worry about someone is walking around your house and listen on you??

but the old 900MHz get rid of these phone!!

It does make a difference. The different frequencies will generally have different transmission ranges and amount of interference. The higher the frequency, the shorter the range.

Also, 2.4 GHz phones are very close in frequency to wireless networks and microwave ovens (meaning you could get a lot of interference around those items). You are better off ignoring the frequency hype and focusing instead on features such as digital spread spectrum (DSS) or frequency-hopping digital spread spectrum (FHSS) to improve overall quality

if you're really worried about it you should get the new Panasonic DECT.6.0 with build-in router/firewall!!

  2. some older scanners could but think that the new phones can't

  3. Used 5.8 cordless that has extension because if someone calls you they never hear you on the other line of the extension.

the fax if you set up correctly your phone never catch on.
