Is there any cordless phone in market whose base will work even when electricity goes off. Just by using the power from normal telelphone line.

If so, I can use the cordless phone (handset & base) continuously in my hometown where electricity goes off frequently..

  1. The current from the telephone line is not enough to power up the base for cordless operation.

However, there is a combo phone where it's base has a corded handset. The corded handset still work even electricity goes off.

  2. Vtech sells cordless units that you can put a rechargeable battery inside to keep the unit alive during a black out.

  3. I use a UPS battery back-up system (made by APC) to power my cordless phone base stations, Router, and VoIP ATA adapter.  So if power goes out in my house, I can still make VoIP emergency call.

  4. look for one with batteries. . .or get a cell phone (they work w/ or w/o elictricity from an outlet)

  5. There is no way to use a cordless phone when the power goes out. You have to have a regular corded phone. Even if the cordless has batteries, its not going to work. Its the base that needs that electrical supply. Sorry. Hope it helps...

ps. i work for the phone co. If you find a phone out there that does that I will be sooooo shocked.
