I want a surround sound system for my tv but, due to solid flooring, I dont want to run wires to the rear speakers. Do you know of any system with cordless rear speakers? Also must have usb port to hook up MP3/Laptop - Budget under £200 if poss - Thanks!

  1. rather than look for wireless rear speakers why not look for Directional speakers?

They spit the sound out onto walls which act as the speakers, its the latest technology, but Yamaha do one called the ysp800 which is about £400 and won numerous awards, you attach it below your tv, close all the doors and lave the room whilst it balances all 80 mini speakers inside the panel

Its really clever, and its been voted as good as the Bose accoustimass 10 system (5 years ago though)

I had friend who has one and he forgot to close his kitchen and the sound had bounced aroudn his dining room, really freaky....

Other wise, your going to suffer on sound, why not do it across the walls and along the ceiling under the coving? and back down...

you can hire special motorised bevel chisel which will channel the wall for wiring.... the crack is so thin that you dont need plaster just use polyfilla....

If you would like me to send you some pics of mine let me know

  2. Hi there's a few out there, you could check out Richer Sounds, they're usually pretty good, but I did find one that almost fits the bill, but if you look around you may be able to get a better price, URL is;-      http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electron...

    Hope that helps

  3. As Mr. M. says, wireless speakers are prone to break-up and static due to passing vehicles, mobile phones, household appliances and even someone just walking around the room.  Cheap ones (under £200) are even worse...

If you really want to enjoy your home cinema, you will need wires (and a bigger budget), I'm afraid.

  4. im also looking for a home cinema system for around 200.

ive heard that wireless speakers arent very good though and the sound get interferred with by cars n phones n stuff.

i think i might go for this ...

    Panasonic SCPT450EB 5.1 1000w
