I am most looking forward to this match on Court Phillipe Chatrier tommorow 10:00 british time. But who will win? Coria has played next-to-no tennis the past like 3 years but returned in the Grand Prix II CasaBlanca tournament Last week. Robredo has been in the top twenty virtually the last 10 years yet doesn't seem to do anything. I believe anything can happen. What do you think? and can Coria return to the top of mens tennis?

  1. Probably Robredo, but I'd prefer for Coria to win.

  2. interesting question! Coria was a great player at one time but he might be too disconnected.

Admittedly Robredo is not having a good year but staying in the top 20 and being 13 at the moment isn't exactly "not doing anything". I just think that Robredo has found his level and is trying to stay there - no mean feat in such a competitive world.

I'll be the one dissenting voice here where everyone is rooting for Coria. I'm for Robredo.

It's possible that Coria may have benefited from the three year "rest" or time out. It has been known to happen that players come back strengthened after a prolonged inactivity. We'll know pretty soon.

  3. 0o0o tough match !!! I dont think i could make a bet on who will win lol Im gonna enjoy it too :) I cant wait for Rafa to play tomorrow ;) :P I wonder if he`ll change his outfit hehe instead of wearing the blue tank top n white capris (not that im complaining) just wonder if he`ll have a different colour of top on tomorrow aha yeah im weird :P

    Vamos Rafa x*x

  4. robredo..

  5. im hoping coria coz the little t u r d needs some sort of redemption after losing the final against gaudio since then his career has gone down, he needs some good good results.

  6. Robredo in straight sets. Coria is rusty and has lost his confidence due to injuries. Coria is in a similar position as Gustavo Kuerten. Injuries have slowed him down and isn't the player he once was. Robredo is a Top 10 player on clay and just about anyone decent on clay could beat Coria. I'll be rooting for Coria but he just doesn't have anything left be competitive for 5 sets.

    Thanks for question..

  7. My money is on Coria :D

I know he's about 604 in the world right now, while Robredo is 13 in the world. However, given Coria's past record (career high no. 3 in the world), I'd say he definately has the talent to beat Robredo, who isn't having a great year either (12 wins, 11 losses, best result was semifinals at Valencia).

Plus, Coria will have the mental advantage: he's 3-0 with Robredo in career meetings. http://www.atptennis.com/3/en/players/he...

Anything could happen, but I'm definately rooting for Coria :D
