Question:

Corkscrew and Cat Mishap, can you help?

Owing to a slight mishap involving a cat a corkscrew and a bottle of red wine (don't ask) I now have splashes of red wine on my shirt.

I have immediately bunged it in the basin with cold water (the shirt, not the cat) because I remember once reading that was what you do with stains.

Now what is the best (i.e. quickest and easiest) way to get them out?

This is not just an ordinary shirt this a top quality, top of the range, three ply cotton, Lanvin shirt so you will understand the urgency.

  1. ooops!  Next time pour white wine on to the stain.  could still be worth a try if it only happened a short time ago. otherwise you could try putting salt on the stain and leaving it a while before washing out. If all else fails, there are products calles "stain devils" sold by dept stores and i think woolworths which should do the job. good luck.  Next time- dont scare the cat when you pop the cork!

  2. Oxyclean is good at taking out wine.

If your still stuck you could always ask Kim and Aggie LOL

Hope the cats ok           ;  )

but seriously, i hope you get your lovely shirt spotless. . .

  4. Soda water will get it out.

Old bartender's trick that works on lots of stains (and other cleaning applications.)

*Still grinning at the mental image of the cat helping you with the corkscrew*
