Corleones Dondon and Kilmalady Fox with distinct advantages in the Corona Sprint Trophy
A number of successes of the four-year-old, Corleones Dondon, are the result of drawing the first trap. After nearly more than a month, the fawn dog will race in red in the Corona Sprint Trophy. The OR event is being hosted by Nottingham on Monday, 24th September. The audience will get to enjoy an interesting clash between six highly versatile hounds.
Most have proved themselves over time and seasons, but Kilmalady Fox did not wait that long, and grabbed the attention right in the OR debut at Nottingham.
Trainer, J. McCombe drilled the three-year-old a good three times before letting the under charge take his chances in the open company once again.
Droopys Scolari’s son bagged the £200 prize money of the Foxsports Surfaces Ltd Supporting The RGT Maiden Sprint Trophy on 15th September, 2012 at Nottingham over 305 metres.
Leading the track after racing from the first trap had the favourite entry concluding the race in 17.97 seconds. Farloe Gent settled into the runner-up’s slot after missing the chance by the margin of 2 ¾ lengths.
He is backed by 10 to 11 odds for the race tonight, and has drawn the fourth trap to race from. Taking off from right in the middle can become troublesome for the three-year-old due to the possibility of getting crowded and bumped.
Breaking out from there will need him to engineer a technique that will enable him to draw clear soon.
Covering as much ground as possible until the wire by racing at the far end will suit him the most.
Another lucky entry is the 4 to 1 shot of trainer, P. Timmins. His plus point in the challenge tonight is the first trap that has been allotted to Ballymac Maeve’s son.
The last time that he raced from the same number, Corleones Dondon, ended fifth in the Stadium Bookmakers Sprint Trophy on 20th August, 2012 at Nottingham.
The race was won by, Dynamo Joe.
Sharing the track will be Ballymac Guitre, Glass Half Full, Gold Finch and Rushmoor Tony. All these entries have some real competition to under take.
