Corleones Dondon to go all out in the Molson Coors Sprint Trophy at Nottingham
If there was ever a close race to be called on Nottingham’s card today, than it would be the Grade OR Molson Coors Sprint Trophy run over a distance of 305 metres with the prize money of £150.
An exciting top notch lineup has been assembled for the Grade OR Sprint at Nottingham with Black Silver topping the chart with his fantastic run in his previous races.
The black dog is the son of Droopys Maldini, out of Step Lightly, and the unattached hound is trained by S. Mason.
Black Silver has been able to string together 4 victories at three different venues over distances ranging from 280 to 450 metres.
Whelped in 1 June, 2008, the veteran hound is exiting two back to back victories in 2 Grade OR races on 25 February and 28 February, respectively. He was sent as the 11 to 10 favourite to win the race in his last race.
Black Silver will have a mountain to climb this time, because the competition is high in today’s sprint, but he might get bustled up with, Waspinajar, in the lineup.
The fawn b***h will certainly won’t be beaten for the lack of effort. Trained by H. Dimmock, the daughter of Forest Master, out of Forest Joy has been extremely unlucky in her last few starts, finishing on the money at least 4 times at Peterborough.
On 29 October, 2011, she finished second in a Grade OR race sent at 9 to 1, and recently finished a shoulder adrift in second to winner Killacolla Pedro in a 420 metre long Grade A1 race.
P. Timmins trained fawn dog, Corleones Dondon, has been consistently racing over Nottingham’s track, and has been familiar with the surroundings and on top of that he has been turning in some good performances there.
Running over a distance of 305 metres consistently, he won four of his last 6 races there, finished 5th once and third in his last races. The son of Ballymac Maeve, out of Corleones Flyer is sent at 4 to 1, and has all the potential to win the
race.
With so many good performers in the lineup, it is extremely hard to pick the winner out, but Corleones Dondon and Black Silver will definitely go for the first place, and Corleones Dondon might edge past Black Silver in the stretch and win it.
While on the other hand Waspinajar, would track the leaders closely, and might finish second on the day.
