Question:

Corn snake...help?

we are doing something to our house this weekend. i think its called bombing( to kill all the bugs) and i wanted to know how long can my corn snake be out of his tank without his the right heat

  1. Depends on where you live and what the temp is. I had a green snake at work without heat for 6 hours and was fine, but I dont really recommend it.


  2. Just stop feeding him for now. They can be without heat for quite a while as long as there is no food in their belly. I breed snakes and hibernate my corns and other colubrids at 45 to 60 degrees for three months with no problems.

  4. Cornsnakes, and many other pet snakes can survive without the tank heat lamp for an amount of time. My suggestion if you can, 1) bring the tank and heat lamp if you can to another house, where you can plug up the heat lamp and allow him to be in his cage, untill the bombing is over. 2)or if you do not want to bring the snake cage, the best suggestion is to carry him, but expose him to direct sunlight as much as possible, because the sun acts as a heat lamp for the tyme being, untill the bombing is over.
