Corn snake regurgitated?

I have a Hatchling corn snake and for the past several weeks i've been feeding it pinkys just fine once a week. This last feeding the guy at the pet store had givin me a pinky who was a little bigger and already was starting to grow some hair.

I didn't think much of it as it was not too big. I fed it on wedsday and did not touch it until monday afternoon as it didn't look like he had finished digesting it yet.

Well monday I noticed that he was shedding and I opened up his tank to clean it and add a humidity box. I picked it up to kind of soak it to make the shed easier on him. and put him back.

Later on that night I went to check on it again and I saw that he had regurgitated the pinky I had fed him on wedsday. Was it b/c I handled him or b/c he was shedding? or was the pinky just too big for him? any help would be much appreciated

  1. I would say that this is do to a combination of both. Shedding causes stress and so does handling them if it is a young snake. I would wait a week and try feeding next Wednesday.

  2. it was more than likely because of the shedding.  i wouldn't worry about it too much since this is the only time it has happened.  if it happens again (like in the next feeding or so) then you might start to worry.
