Corner lights for my truck...?

I have a set of corner lights and wanted to know if anyone has ever tried putting them in an oven to take the lens off. I've heard that this process helps the glue dissolve and it makes taking the lens off easier. How long does this process, of putting the corner lights in the oven, generally take? Has anyone tried it?
