  1. With cornflour it becomes a non newtonian liquid so you only need to add liquid until it becomes pliable.

Its great fun to play with but just add water very slowly until you get the right consistency.

If you want to make a play dough which the kids can mold and make shapes with then you need  a playdough recipe.

    1 cup plain (all-purpose) flour

    ½ cup salt

    2 tablespoons cream of tartar

    2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 cup water with food coloring added

1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional but it makes the playdough smell nice!)

Put everything in a saucepan on medium heat, stir until everything forms a ball. Put it in a sealed polythene bag and leave until cool.

  2. just get a big black tray......put a big pile of cornflour in the middle....a small jug of water next to it and some spoons, scrapers ect and let the kids digg in....its verrrrrrrrry messy but the kids love it....you can also ad some food dye to it when its all runny to make it more exciting

  3. Quantities are not precise for this mixture, you can alter it depending on how gloopy you want it to be!!! the mixture begins to separate until it is played with so just try it out!! Here is a great idea: Put the cornflour in a tray with cups of water coloured with food colouring and little scoops and let the children explore the substance them selves, they absolutely love doing this!! Have fun

Also try making play dough with different ingredents like cocoa powder, jelly crystals , sand and baby oil, have fun with it, there are no rules!!
