Cornwall a Country???

I've heard that cornwall used to be its own country. Can anyone find me a source to prove/disprove this??

  1. Thousands of years ago, but then England wasn't one country- it was made up many areas, all ruled by different kings.

    In the late 1st millennium CE, England  was united as one country with one ruler

    King Arthur comes into the story somehow, but I'm not quite sure about that one

    Cornwall is a COUNTY not a COUNT*R*Y. They are completely different things. Counties are just subdivisions of the UK, not independent countries.

    Cornwall is today an extra territorial Duchy, seperate from the United Kingdom but ruled by Prince Charles the duke of Cornwall.
