I know that Katharine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn had coronations. I know Jane Seymour did not. I can find no evidence that any other queens had coronations. Any info?

  1. He ,most likly, wanted to wait untill they gave him a son.. and Jane died before he could crown her.

  2. Anne of Cleves was never crowned Queen although she and Henry VIII had married for 6 months. The marriage was annulled on July 9, 1540, on the grounds both of non-consummation and of her pre-contract to Francis of Lorraine.

Catherine married Henry VIII on 28 July 1540, at Oatlands Palace in Surrey, almost immediately after his annulment from Anne of Cleves was arranged. Henry VIII showered his young bride with wealth, jewels and fantastically expensive gifts except crowning her Queen.

Catherine Parr was the last of the six wives of Henry VIII of England. She was queen consort of England, although she too was never crowned, however, for three months, from July to September 1544, Catherine was appointed queen regent by Henry as he went on his last, unsuccessful, campaign in France.

  3. Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn are the only two who had coronations except Anne Boleyn should not have had it as she was not officially queen

  4. Henry never crowned another Queen after Anne Boleyn.

Crowned and anointed Queens are far more difficult to get rid of especially if they have powerful foreign relatives.

I like to think he would have crowned Jane Seymour but as she did not live for long after their marriage we will never know if he planned to do this.

There was talk after the pilgrimage of Grace (revolt in the North) that Jane would be crowned in York but at that time Henry made many empty promises to keep his throne.

Best info to be found in the books of David Starkey!

  5. Anne of Cleeves- No coronation.

    Katherine Howard- No coronation.

    Katherine Parr- No coronation.

That is my belief, could be wrong but do not think I am.

  6. Only Katherine of Aragon and Anne boleyn had coronations.  Henry gave up crowning them after that, perhaps because they were coming and going too fast.
