How do large companies justify giving top executives million dollar salaries and million dollar bonuses when there are those at the bottom that work very hard and don't make but $30k a year? Any thoughts?

  1. It is justified by corporations making huge profits, and giving the CEO getting a piece of it.  Unfortunately the huge profits are made by laying off workers and outsourcing work to low wage countries, which helps keep wages here down.

  2. First in my opinion it's not the executives fault.

I look at the same way as what happens in sports.

    Athlete "A" gets $5M a year from team "X"

Athlete "B" comes out of college and says "I'm better than athlete "A" so I'll only sign for $6M a year.

Then athlete "C" sees "B" getting $6M a year right out of college and says "Hey, I'm a veteran only making $4M a year, I should be making more than a rookie" so he gets $7M a year.

    And the cycle continues.

I see it as the same in the corporate world. Companies want the best person to make their company profitable and they aren't afraid to throw tons of money out to get who they percieve as the best.
