Question:

Corporation rights to conduct affairs forfeited?

I had recently worked as a volunteer for a non profit corporation and I just found out that they have received a notice that says that their "rights to conduct affairs have been forfeited..." Does that mean that they are not supposed to operate -at all- until they file the documents required by the Secretary of State's office?

  1. Yes.

If they want to operate in a state they must conform with the rules and regulations of the state.  (No matter how ridiculous they seem).

Government agencies tend to run on paperwork and are not satisfied unless everyone they have any control over fills out and submits the paperwork that fuels them.

    Hope this helps
