Corpus Christi during March, a good place to go?

I live in Houston TX and goes to college in San Antonio. I want to go to some where close for spring break. So I thought I should ask someone who have been to CC or SP or live there... How's Corpus Christi like during late March? What about South Padre during late march? btw how long is the drive from SA to South padre? Thanks.

By Texas terms it's not a long drive from SA to South Padre, just a few hours. Corpus and South Padre are great for Spring break and the weather is perfect in March.
