Correcting Credit Report?

My credit report reflects an employer whom I never worked for. How do I go about removing this incorrect information??

  1. Since employment information isn't part of the credit scoring formula, you don't really need to worry about it.

    In the event you apply for a loan or job where that comes into question, you can deal with it then.

Marc is right, its very simple, simply go on www.transunion.com, www.experian.com and www.equifax.com and they all should have a link where you can dispute or make a change to your credit report or you can so obtain there email adress and write them disputing the incorrect information on your report. Good luck and it might take a few months to resolve this issue being that they are sooo slow.

  3. Write a letter to the top 3 credit reporting agencies with the correct information.  Include your name, DOB, SS# and address.

  5. You might be able to correct that over the phone.  GO to all three websites, transunion, equifax, and experian and call them.  You can also correct some of those mistakes online at the above mentioned sites.
