I have been playing golf now for nearly 4 years and my driving is still poor. After numerous rounds of golf and hours spent on the driving range it still hasnt been cured. Has anyone got any tips?

  1. No one here could help you without at least seeing your swing.  But I am guessing that your fundamentals are a little off thus you are repeating a flawed swing.  Get a lesson or two from a PGA professional, they can set you on the right track.

  2. I would take a private lesson to get it fixed.

Just remember the basics. Take your club down on the same path you take it up. Dont take it up to fast, take it up nice and slow then pull it down. Dont try to kill it, ect ect

  3. you actually will want to play the ball on your front foot. also dont have a death grip, just have a nice loose grip and dont try to kill it. what i like to do is put the logo facing up so i have something to focus on so i dont pick my head up. once you can hit it straight and in the air try hitting it harder.

  4. Lock your head swing easy and if you have a big headed driver play it of your back foot.

  5. You must be continuing to reinforce some bad swing habits.  Your not providing much info here, so my only tip is to invest in a few lessons to correct the flaws and also to learn some drills to work on it.

  6. The only true way to figure it out is with a certified pga pro.  Get some lessons.  I Took two 30 minute lessons and it has already paid off.  I paid 40 bucks per lesson.  These guys have helped hundreds of golfers and can deliver you the basics of what needs to be done.  It makes golf so much better to when you have straight drives.

  7. go see teaching pro at a golf course .check around at different golf courses and find a PGA teaching pro  best money spent .

  8. I agree with the other answers... it is time for you to take couple quick lessons with a pro to fix your swing.  When you say your driving is poor, I assume you mean distance not far and not your driver.

Distance comes from a correct ball contact and right timing to release maximum power using the mid-lower body muscles, both has to do with your swing and stance.  Just increasing the club head speed by hitting harder and faster will only produce a worse shot.

Without seeing your swing and not having enough information in your question, generally, most amateur golfers try to hit and launch the ball, which is the wrong way.  The ball is actually launched (without a tee) by the ball being compressed in to the ground and 'pop' out and up the club face.   So if you are 'hacking' the ball like hitting a baseball, it won't go very far.

  9. I recommend the Medicus dual hinged swing trainer.  There is a driver and a iron version.  It will help you with tempo.  I was always trying to swing too hard and it helped me.
