Corrie claims IPL experience not enough for India
Corrie Van Zyl, the South African national coach thinks that the IPL and Airtel Champions league experience is not enough for India to do well in South African conditions. The T 20 experience will not help the Indian cause as they are about to start their
tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757.
Conditions in the land of Proteas will test the Indians during the course of three-match Test series. Test cricket is the ultimate test of a cricketer as it tests the temperament, technique and character, so the T20 outings might not prove vital for the
preparation of the tour.
Respectively, the T20 leagues were held in April and September, when the wickets are traditionally on the slower side. On the contrary, in December and January the strips in the home country become quicker and pose greater bounce.
Van Zyl mentioned in a press conference, “When you play here as an IPL team or in the Champions League, you play on wickets that are a lot slower and flatter.”They might feel a lot more comfortable touring because of those experiences, but in terms of conditions
such as the pace and the bounce, I don't think they would have an advantage."
The first Test of the three-match series kick starts on December 16 at Super Sports Park in Centurion. The pitches are said to be lively during the Test series between the two cricketing giants. Cricket South Africa has already instructed the curators to
prepare bowling friendly tracks, which would help their formidable pace-attack.
The curator of the Centurion pitch, Hilbert Smith signalled that the pitch at Super Sports Park will have a fair amount of pace and bounce in it. As a result, the wickets in the country will test the opposition.
The Proteas boasts on a formidable pace attack as they possess the best new-ball pair in the world in the shape of a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dale-c52110 Steyn, who can run through any batting line-up in the world, especially in their home conditions.
Corrie also thinks that the team, who will be able to counter the pace and bounce in a better way, will have a greater chance of sealing the victory. Adding to this, Indians also have decent pace bowlers who can use the conditions really well.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 has never won a series in South Africa, including all forms of cricket, plus they have registered a Test win on the African soil only once. The pace and bounce in the host country has been their nemesis, whenever they have toured South Africa.
