Corsa mirror?how to fit into ball-joint?

What is the nack of fitting a 2002 vauxhall corsa 1.2 sxi wing mirror glass without breaking it.My son says that when he tries to push the fitting into the the central ball joint so that it connects to the electric terminals on eitherr side of the ball joint,it pushes the mechanism back into the mirror houseing.

  1. It's only pushing the mechanism in because it's 'dipping' the mirror when it moves the lever on the bottom of the mirror - cover it with a thick rag or piece of cardboard, support the mounting, rest the mirror in place & give it a firm clout.


  2. The ball & socket needs to be lubricated. I suggest putting washing up liquid on it then firmly snapping back into place. Good Luck h

You have two choices take the base off of the door re-attach the mirror on a table or floor, line the two parts up and with a firm shove the ball joint shoulfd go back together then put back on the door ( this is a matter of three bolts under the trianguler piece of plastic on the door, or just line it all up, and with a firm shove it shouild pop on, the ball joint goes into a socket that has got a metal ring around it, this acts as a spring around thye joint and it is a tight fit but does go.
