Corsa or Punto???

Question

I currently own a N reg Corsa LS and I am looking to update to a 52 reg Fiat Punto... Am I making the right decision, I just want something a little more up to date and the Punto at £1,700, is the perfect price, it's got central locking, power steering amongst other things my Corsa doesn't have but, the Cirsa just passed MOT with flying colours, I don't want to do it, then be greatly disappointed. I don't know what to do!!?

Puntos are a pile of dogs droppings!

A friend brought one round mine last month. They're tinny, and don't have any value. I was not impressed at all by it.

Her engine was leaking oil so badly, I put a pint in for her to get home. Oil was seeping through the metal of the sump, it was that badly rusted.

Keep the Corsa.

i would stick with the corsa as vauxhalls are better cars and if your wanting a newer car i would go for a newer corsa i wouldnt go for a fiat they have nothing but problems i no some one with a 54 plate and its ready for the scrap yard. good luck with what ever you choose.

the only thing that would stop me from doing it is how much the insurance would be for the punto because it is a newer car.

Respect and much peace my friend. I was given a Corsa 1.3 CDTi diesel van at work the other week whilst my Combi was in for service, it was a tremendous little vehicle to drive and very fast and economical 60 plus to the gal. My mrs had a Fiat Chinc a couple of years ago, it was an aweful car. I would stick to Vauxhaul if I were you. I know that one I drove was quite new (07), but you may pick one up at auction - say an 05 for around 2.5k. Even the van looks cool, and you could still modify some seat and fit them in the back. I bought my 03 punto (1.9 diesel JTD) 3 months a go and I love it! Try this site, it gave me an inside view of things before I bought it!!! Best of luck

A Punto, being nortoriously unreliable, is not the route to go.

I'd buy the Punto.

BUT, take someone with you who knows a lot about cars, even ask one of the mechanics at your MOT place to come with you and give the car a quick inspection.

A lot of Puntos have been thrashed around by 17 year olds and you wouldn't want to buy one of their cars!
