Corvette or Subaru STi?

Question

So my girl and I are talking about me buying a car to celebrate my recent promotion and our soon to be marriage.

My dream car (I keep it realistic) is a;

2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi.

*Keepin' it rally style but down to street race it.

*Will not make it rice rocket looking..

Her choice;

2000+ Chevrolet Corvette. *Ehhhh*

So guys.. I hope you all agree with me in getting the Suby.

Ladies.. Most of you have a very bad taste in fast cars.

Subaru 100%, much better sounding engine and you can actually drive it in the snow. Corvette drivers would never do that.

All I can tell you is that when driving my Corvette convertible, it's the most fun you can have with your clothes on. !!!!! Plus you can get 2-sets of golf clubs in the trunk. Plenty of room for that kind of car.

It boils down to weather you want a kids car, or an adult car.  When i see a vette, it's classy looking, very sporty looking, just overall great sports car lines.

When i see an sti, i immediately think of the old hyundai's souped up with big wheels and wings.  They are dopey looking cars.  And the drivers are usually young punks.  Although the car handles well and is fast, is only good for 18-21 year old's.  Anyone older would like a little style.

i would go for the sub because my friend owns one the sti abuses the h**l out of it and the car still runs new at around60k plis the vett is to small and i think its a bit overated

I think you should go with the subaru 100%!! No offense to corvette drivers but they remind me of old men cars. Thats usually what you see driving one. Unless you get a brand new one they are not all that great. good luck!

Well, with marraige there is always a chance you will need to have a rear seat for a child, and the Corvette ain't got that.

The Corvette is probably a little faster

Handling is a wash

MPG is a wash

The Subaru is somewhat more reliable

The Subaru is built somewhat better

The Subaru will be better in bad weather

Insurance will be a wash

If it is possible, the Subaru is a more practical choice.

the clear advantage goes to the wrx sti = turbo+awd

dont get me wrong a corvette is a nice car but with gas prices these days good luck filling up a tank of a v8
