any gen. corvette in a drag and any gen. m3 on a track, thing is u could never build a vette to beat a built m3 on a track but u could build an m3 to beat a built up vette in a straight line and the m3 is also a better drift platform if thats what ur into

It all depends. Which gen-Corvette and which gen-M3?

The C5 Z06 was and still is a beast on the streets. Achieving a 0-60 time of 4.0 seconds and blasting through the quarter mile at 12.6 seconds, it destroys any other competition. The E46 M3 has no chance as it can go from 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, a cumbursome pace comapred to the Z06's.

The old LS7 C6 Corvette achieved the best 0-60 time of 4.1 seconds, rivaling the E92 BMW M3's 0-60 time of 4.2 seconds. The new 2008 LS3 C6 however, is faster by 0.2 seconds, a  considerable margin to lose by.

The C6 Z06 is a completey different story. It'll rocket from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, placing it in competition with Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, and of the like. There is no comparison to ANY Beemer or Corvette at this point. The C6 Z06 dominates ALL and ANY BMW on the drag strip or on the track.

The C6 ZR1 cannot even be COMPARED to BMWs in performance because of how lopsided it would be. 0-60 in 3.1 seconds, a Nurburgring lap time of 7 minutes and 26 seconds, and an exclusive 2,000 ZR1's per year, Ferraris and Lamborghinis alike tremble in their boots when the ZR1 pulls up.

Give an adept driver any Corvette from C5 and up, and the M3 would be no match for ANY C5-C6 Corvette.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha .... first of all, a ferrari or Lamborghini driver won't even look over at ANY car let alone a vette. PLEASE. this new ZR-1 might give them some competition, however, the stereotypical Corvette driver is in a mid-life crisis, fat, bald, and doesn't have a p***s.... and has 2.3 kids at home. whereas the ferrari or lambo driver is stereotypically young, good looking, RICH, oh say that again....RICH. every american woman I know laughs at guys in vettes. (except little young girls...not women.)

with all that said... I hope the vette just whoops the shiiite outta all those cars cause I'm from Detroit. But, pretty soon GM is going to be owned by Toyota anyways so it really doesn't matter.
