After my Cichlids attacked my Cory's, they have ragged fins and some bits missing, will they grow back with Melfix, Melafin, don't remember the name, but you know what I'm talking about.

How long will it take?

Are they going to be ok?

  1. they will heal but honestly don't think they will grow back sometimes if the fins are bitten off then they can get fin rot which is dangerous if not treated straight away

  2. You did not say what kind of Cichlids you have or if you removed the corys to another tank.  Usually, healthy fish can repair minor to moderate damage without medication within a week to a month.  Some cichlids are just plain mean and aggressive while others are territorial.  If the corys are just in the wrong place at the wrong time, they will soon learn where it's safe for them to be.  But if the tank is too small or the cichlids won't tolerate them because they are breeding or just plain nasty, then you really need to remove the corys to another tank.  I have 8 angelfish in a 29 gallon tank with plants and driftwood but when I added 6 albino corys they were all killed within a few days.  Two of my angel fish paired off and were just about to lay eggs so the timing was unfortunate for the cory cats.  I've kept corys with angels before without problems but in this case, timing was everything.
