Well, I'm new on here so hi everyone!

Anyways, I need quick help with one of my Corydoras. His name is Mop and he got VERY sick over night.

There's no wounds except for ragged fins and darkened body. No signs of parasites, bacterial infections or fungus.

His tank mates are very docile and did not nip on his fins.

He's somewhat active but not much. It's been like this since yesterday.

I have a 30 gallon with 3 Guppies and 3 more Corydora Panda's. Parameters are perfect, the tant is cycled, a lto of hiding places and plants.

Please help me!

  1. to me it looks like fin nipping. you need to isolate this fish and monitor the tank because you have a fish or fishes that are bullying another. watch closely and you will find the mean one. one thing you can do to try and stop this behavior is to move things around in your tank. this way they will be confused and worry more about their surroundings than about tank mates. good luck with your fish.

  2. Only 3 possible choices for the fin loss.

    1. Nipping by his tank mates.

    2. Fin rot.

    3. Sucked into filter intake (unlikely)

Honestly by the photo, I believe its a tank mate.  Keep a close watch on all your fish for evidence of fin rot though.  Good luck.

  3. the marbles/stones u have in the tank may be a bit hard for him and as he is eating off them his barbels have snapped off plus he could have rubbed himself on the bottom which has resulted him to losing his colour hope this helps u out and gets better
