Corydoras (catfish bottom feeder) Help!

I just put 5 goldfish into my pond so i can make room for the new babies that we get every summer from the pond. Unfortuenatley, also new this year was a Corydoras, will he eat the new babies that are the size of your thumb nail? and if he will, can i put him in the pond? (i live in Vanouver, pond temp ranges from 5 - 20 degres) Thank you!

  1. Don't house the Cory catfish in the pond. They're tropical fish and don't like colder temperatures.

    About eating the babies, it depends on how thick they are. Cories like frozen bloodworms and live worms, so if they're thicker than those, then chances are they probably won't eat it.

    But again, don't put the Cory in the pond.

  2. No corys can't live in a pond. They need 73-79F. About 27C. And he will eat the eggs. Don't get a cory for your pond.

  3. Cories only get about the size of an adult man's thumb, so couldn't eat babies that large.  However, it will chow down on the eggs, as will the other goldfish.

    But the cory will die quickly once temperature sink below 60-65 F.  They prefer temps 72-82 F.
