This question does not make sense as the second cos is not followed by a number. Cos just not make sense on it's own as it is justa function and not a number. It must be followed by a number (or numbers).

Assuming you just want to simplify this and you really mean:

cos²[π/2 - x] / cos(x)

cos²[π/2 - x] / cos(x)

= sin²(x) / cos(x)

= sin(x).(sin(x)/cos(x))

= sin(x)tan(x)
