Cosmetics for a film?

I am helping out my friend by being in his student film, and he says that I need to do my makeup "for camera". I don't know what brands/products to use, and how to do it "for camera". Any suggestions for what products to use is very appreciated!

  1. Most of the time, the camera will somewhat drown out the color in your face. I recommend using more bronzer and blush than you usually would. For your lips, use a richer matte lipstick, and on your eyes, use a chunkier eyeliner.

  2. Ben Nye makes great makeup for film/tv/stage productions. It is heavier consistency and really translates well on camera. You can get a kit of everything you need for around $40. It includes liners, concealers meant for film, and more. you can check it out at the website below. it also comes in a variety of colors and skin tones. If this is too much, I suggest something like Max factor cake pan foundation, it gives a heavier coverage and you can set it with a white translucent powder.
